Friday Feature - Classic Coffee

Cooler weather has hit Glendora and what better way to stay warm than grabbing coffee at Classic Coffee! A staple at the Glendora Village for over 10 years, they have something for everyone. Offering a full line of coffee and espresso based drinks - hot, iced or blended, Classic Coffee also has a variety of sweet pastries such as scones, muffins, bear claws, gluten free coffee cake and strudels. And we can't forget about their other savory items like bagels, steel cut oatmeal, hummus with pita chips, and stuffed pretzels.

Just in time for the holidays, Classic Coffee has all of your favorite holiday flavors, including Pumpkin Spice, Maple Spice, Egg Nog, Peppermint Mochas, or Peppermint Hot Chocolate. They've recently switched tea lines and are now using exclusively loose leaf tea. Try out this month's featured tea - Caramel Apple Black Tea!

For all our book lovers, there will be a book signing on Dec. 20th from 1-3p. And look out for a Single Cup Brewing Class near the end of January.

Fun Facts:
  • We have Soy Milk and Almond Milk for milk alternatives as well as Lactose Free Milk for people that would like that.
  • Our espresso is Certified Organic.
  • We do sell gift cards and they make great stocking stuffers.
  • We are so blessed to have been in business for over 10 years and we strongly believe in giving back to the community. We donate thousands of cups of coffee to the schools every year and we provide coffee service to churches in the city. These are some of the ways we give back to the people and city that make our business possible.

How often will it be published?
The issues will be monthly and other than January, the publication dates are TBA at the moment.
How can a business/organization advertise?
We have different advertising opportunities to fit the budget of our clients. The sizes include:
Post-Its | $200
Three to four full-pages in each section are designated for Post-Its. In each page, we will collage 5-7 products or services our local business offer. The picture will have a tag along that will have the name of the product, the price, a small description, the business name, and a website or phone number so the Post-It  always tie back to the business. The goal of these pages is to showcase the products and services local businesses offer at the comfort of the reader’s home or place of choosing.
Horizontal Banner | $325
Vertical Banner | $350
Both banners will be strategically and graphically placed in pages with reading content. The goal of these ads is to catch the reader’s attention while they are browsing through the body text of a page.
Half Page | $380
This type of ad will be available for a limited time only (six to twelve months). We split the pages in half in order to cater to businesses with a lower budget for advertising.
Full Page | $700
This type of ad will tag along with content pages throughout the different sections and so the advertiser will have the pleasure to choose what page they would like to tag along with to have exposure to the desired market.
Table of Contents Full Page | $800
The table of contents by nature is the most visited page in the magazine. The magazine will not have many headlines in the front cover (to keep the visual clean), and so the reader will be compelled to browse the table of contents.
Full Spread | $1100
This type of ad is made to fully maximize the exposure of the business. The advertiser will have two full pages for his ad. These pages are spread throughout the magazine allowing the advertiser exposure inside and outside of the different sections.
Back Cover | $1750
Second to the front cover, the back cover is the type of advertisement that will always be seen at all times. Whether the magazine is open or closed, the business will still have exposure at all times.
Front Cover | $2000
The front cover is usually chosen by The Avenue Magazine team because it introduces the main feature story of the month. However, if an advertiser was to purchase the front cover, the design must be worked out by both the Visuals and Graphic Director of The Avenue Magazine and the advertiser.
Ad Design | $100
We encourage advertisers to use this service to be able to get the best Visuals and Graphics to maximize exposure. Service includes a photo shoot and the making of the ad. Illustrations and design will be shared with the advertiser to use for any other marketing they may need.
Additional Marketing Services | $ to be determined
Web design
Professional photography
Graphic design
What kind of content can we expect to see?
The magazine is not intended to be an ad flip book. The ad to content ratio is one to three (1:3). There will be different sections throughout the magazine to be able to cover the wide spectrum of businesses Glendora offers:

Introductory
Fashion
Health and Beauty
Fitness
Food and Beverages
Miscellaneous
Social
Reading (features and editorials)

Do you accept contributor articles/photos?
Yes we do.
Anything else you would like the readers to know?
Help us spread the word! Locals do not know all of the incredible businesses, residents, and community we have and we want to share that with the Glendora community. We are looking to promote growth in the city by encouraging residents and locals to shop in our local businesses. We have had all our share of struggles with the development of our businesses and community and we want to see Glendora and her residents prosper as a community as a whole.

Friday Feature - Top Billing Entertainment Performance Academy

A few years back, before founding the youth non-profit performing arts group, Top Billing Entertainment, Kristina Keener Ivy was operating for four years as Keener Music Studio in the Village. And as of November 1, 2014, they've officially changed the name and organization to Top Billing Entertainment. They have had great financial assistance and support from the Tennant Foundation who is helping them make our dreams a reality.

They currently offer private one-on-one classes for singing, acting, piano, guitar, ukulele, bass, and most school band instruments. Starting on January 1, 2015 Top Billing will also be offering participation in full scale Broadway caliber musical stage productions, group acting, on-camera acting, dancing, and music classes in all styles and abilities taught by professionals working in each industry. There are also morning fitness classes, mommy and me classes, monthly dance nights (including Salsa, Swing, Ballroom, Country Line Dancing), comedy nights, movie sing-a-long, as well as other social activities.

If you're looking for entertainment this Holiday season, you can hire them to perform at your Holiday Event! This year's show is "Back to the Future Christmas" which they were excited to perform at Disney's California Adventure Park, at the Glendora Village Stroll, and for over 15 community groups. These performances help them raise money for their summer musical "The Wizard of OZ", scheduled for the third week of July 2015. Learn more about it at www.topbillingent.org.

Top Billing Entertainment Performance Academy is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit founded by Kristina Keener Ivy where each performer is given "top billing", treated with respect and admiration, given professional instruction, and given the opportunity for a featured solo, no matter their talent level or ability to pay. Top Billing Entertainment has received 23 National Youth Arts nominations and six wins, won "Best Dance School" in the 2014 San Gabriel Valley Tribune Reader's Choice Awards, and won first place for Best Theater Production and second place for Theater Directing in the American Prize National Competition. We do not charge fees for participants in our big summer musical productions, but instead ask each perform sell tickets and program ads to make our budget. Every performer who wants a solo or featured moment gets one! We do not cut any performers from productions, instead we find ways to showcase each performer to the best of their abilities. Check out our YouTube channel and our website for videos of past productions.

Just in time for holiday shopping -- two Village Goldsmith events

Village Goldsmith is hosting a couple events that will help you finish your holiday gift list one way or another.

First, the store is having a Jewelry Buying Event today and tomorrow, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

They’re paying the highest prices for unwanted jewelry, gold, silverware, coins and more. Just call (626) 335-2723 to make your appointment.

After you sell your unwanted jewelry, you can shop at Village Goldsmith’s “trunk show” by designer Charles Krypell of New York on Thursday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Schedule your private showing by calling (626) 335-2723.

Krypell was a sculptor before he became an internationally renowned jewelry designer. Looking at his exquisite, perfectly balanced jewelry, it’s clear that one artistic craft flowed seamlessly into the other. A native New Yorker, Krypell has created timeless jewelry for the sophisticated collector for three decades. (www.charleskryspell.com)

The Village Goldsmith is located at 158 N. Glendora Ave #B, Glendora, CA 91741.
