With
temperatures hitting the high 90s (and above, whew!), several Glendora Village
restaurants have “cool” on the menu.
Martha’sCandy has long been the spot to scoop up award-winning Thrifty
Ice Cream in a variety of flavors into cones, shakes, sundaes and floats.
Marie
Bitonti of Domenico’s Jr. reports that customers are ordering more of its classic antipasto salad. “It’s
like a dinner in a salad,” she said. “We also make any or our sandwiches
without bread, so they become like a salad.”
Cooling
beverages are being served at Classic Coffee. “Our new ‘Cold
Brew’ coffee has been a hit. It is a brewing method that uses cold water and a
long steeping time to create a rich, smooth and flavorful coffee,” said
Jonathan Lambert, general manager. “We also have Italian Sodas, four types of
iced tea, a variety of blended drink from blended mochas to fresh fruit smoothies.
I’d recommend our Iced Chai and our iced blended Double Chocolate Mocha.”
Ed’s Place
is selling plenty of salads – chicken salads, Caesar salads, and many customers
are ordering breakfasts for lunch, including fresh spinach omelets.
Salads are
also big sellers at Village Vault said Owner Alan Yang. The Vault’s Salad Bar
is also busy with customers filling up their plates with cool choices.
